Cinelook Troubles

Hi, would anyone know how i can turn some very basic DV Footage into Film Look footage. I am using a basic Sony DCR-TRV14E. I have looked at Magic Bullet Suite and DigiEffects Cinelook. With these i have downloaded the trials to test before i buy. However i cannot get either of them to give me a film look, in the sample pictures it look like real film look. Would anyone be able to give me any advise on these programmes or perhaps advise me of another one.

Thanks for any help

Chris

LOL---as an old colleague once said to me when I asked him about the "film look"--"Forget about it---it's video!" You will never get your DV footage to look like film. You can get what they call film looks, but they are a far cry from turning your limited resolution, limited latitude, grain, cadence etc. to film.

It is reasonably simple to avoid much of the harsh video look during production. Lighting is key. And using lenses that provide a film like Depth of Field.

Post production it is tougher. Using the Movie Looks or DVFilm products are the best you can hope for.
