25p field orders

Im thinking of doing my next project in 25p, just wondering which field order would i use in say after effects, or premiere on 25p pal footage from say an xdcam?

well , if it is progressive, there is no field order, since there is no field at all....

You should choose the progressive option. Some programs, if you set field order to upper/lower, will process each field individually. That doesn't make too much of a difference though.

Ill check it out,
seems to me that in After Effects if you select no fields, you'll lose half of your information because of the way progressive scan is encoded to dv.

If you select no fields, you're not going to lose half of the information.

Or perhaps I am not understanding you correctly.

ok i thought no fields just meant one field, displayed twice, as in field doubling.
