Whats the better op system for Adobe Premiere as well as the other major Digital content creation software.

It depends on your computer's configuration, really. If it's a brand new computer (less than 1 years old and was a good model) I'd say go XP. However, if your computer is older than that, go with the latest and greatest of Win 2k. Several reasons for this, relating to drivers, processing power, etc.

The computer that I am building for it is a P42.4B on a Intel 845PE based Mobo with 1Gig of PC3200 Low Latency Match set RAM Which will be the host to a Matrox RT2500 with a Parheila Dispay Adapter

Check with Matrox to make sure the RT2500 is supported in XP. If not, you may be stuck with 2k, but otherwise this is definitely an XP system.

Yes the Rt2500 does support it. The main reason for asking the question was to see if the experianced people in this forum could give recomendations based on there experiance. I have heard people say that 2k Pro was more of a professional enviroment for Video based software.

If you decide to go with XP disable all the 'help the home user' crap. All it does is eat up resourses. Personnally I'd go with W2k as it doesn't have all the added fat. For an NLE system XP doesn't offer any real advantages I have found yet. I have XP on my laptop and W2k on my desktop and am finding XP to not much more than just a new coat of paint and some fancy interior trim.

Windows 2000 has no SP6. Windows NT4 has SP6a. The latest
for Win2K is SP3. XP latest is SP1. Personally I'd go with Win2K
because it has a longer track record with Media and Video work
than XP does. But it also depends on your needs etc. I work with
both everyday and I still like Windows 2000 better. Ofcousre
XP has some nice things as well...
