Problems with Sony movie studio

Greeting from the land down under and glad to be aboard.
I'm new to movie making and hope someone can help me with my problem.
I have recently installed Sony movie studio platinum and am using a sony camcorder DCR-TRV22E via the USB.Everything seems to be working fine except in video capture mode.I am able to capture video however it is stored straight to my documents.Video capture page marks an error while loading project file. The problem seems to be the file sfvidcap, which says is of an unsupported format.
How do i support this file type.
Please help as i love making movies ,and would like to get serious.
thanks,and again hi to all...........john
