Vista copy protection

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this - guess Chris will move or delete it appropriately.

I found this link (http://www.cs.auckland.ac.nz/~pgut00...ista_cost.html) to a study carried out by Peter Guttman on Vista copy protection, and specifically it's downgrading of "premium" (i.e. Hi def) content.

I'm wondering how this will affect content producers? Maybe the "premium" badge is something that gets applied at the DVD authoring stage, so it's nothing to worry about. On the other hand, if Vista is downgrading your pro footage and hence customer's perceptions of its quality, then it's definitely something to worry about.

If this is old hat or I've got the wrong end of the stick, my apologies - I only just found it.
