Digibeta & AC3 5.1 Sound

Hi guys,

I am stuck:

I do have a 5.1 mix of my shot-on-DV-movie (dolby mastered&licensed) and we are currently submitting the movie on preview dvds to festivals.

Now, one festival has accepted the film and since we do not have a 35mm-print yet (no $$$ left) they want a digibeta-copy of the film. All fine, except for the sound.

For now I have found out, that I cannot simply put the AC3 sound on the digibeta-tape.

Do you guys have any idea what I could possibly do to get the 5.1-mix on that tape or save as much of it? The very last solution would be to downmix the 5.1 to stereo: Since I would not do that myself, how time-consuming is this procedere? Is it just "fusing" the channels together (center splitted to left/right, rears forwarded to left/right und subwoofer just omitted) or will this be a total remix?

Answer welcome, time is ticking, festival is in 4 weeks...

Cheers, Peter

PS: www.onevilgrounds.com is the movie I am talking about. Shot on a XL2 with mini35.
