Video Editing Computer (Spending Limit 1K)

ill be building a new computer for video editing in mid may

the three main components for video editing would be CPU, RAM, and HDD.

i already have 2 300gb sata hdd, and 2 160gb ide hdd. i plan on getting a 500gd sata hdd down the line (might be external). though i will be getting the wd raptor 74gb 10000rpm hdd to be my os hdd.

is it worth getting 4GB of ram or should i stick with 2gb? it would be ddr2-800 with a cas latency of 4.

as for the CPU, the faster the better for video editing.

im thinking of getting the E4300 and OC it to at least 2.6GHZ if not 3.0+GHZ

as for the gfx card, ill be getting the 7600gt. i dont game much and video editing doesnt really rely on video gfx.

any comments? or configuration thats you would use instead (1k limit)

for the time being, it will be dv editing but in the future i will be doing hdv editing.

Might want to look at the build they did over at videoguys.com. The type editing software/hardware you intend to use may dictate the configuration of the computer.
