Colour Correcting

Hi, what's the best way to colour correct in PPro (SD). My white balance was off (OK, I forgot to set it) and now I have a red tinge to everything. Is After Effects a better option for this? Thanks

Not necessarily, 3 way color correction is very good as is Color Finesse if you have that plug-in.

I hope you did not shoot DV, as that has really poor color information. Good luck to you!

Premiere should be fine for simply changing the color temperature, but I would use After Effects for anything requiring selective retouching.

You can try...

A- Use the 3-way color corrector and the eyedroppers.

B- OR, use the levels filter. Play with the white input (the right slider) for two of the channels. Slide them left until the image is balanced. Can't remember if Premiere has an eyedropper for automating this. It's the same idea as how you'd white balance images in Photoshop.

If the highlights still have a color cast in them, drop the 3-way CC on... de-saturate the highlights (I can't remember if this is possible in PPro).
