BBC free training materials

Hi -

I've been working on a project to make some DV guides available for download on www.bbctraining.co.uk . We're in the process of make other materials available as well.

Here's a link to the free online guides page:

Thank you very much for those! A couple of times the link to that
had already surfaced here. Glad you put it up "officially" now.

Sam, I tried to download the "PD150 shooting guide," but nothing happened.

Nothin' for the XL1s. I guess Auntie doesn't play with 'em.

PDF reader

Hi - you need PDF reader to view the documents - available free from adobe.com, also make sure you give it time to download - if your browser has to open pdf reader at thesame time as downloading the doc it can sometimes be a bit slow.

If you still have problems, you can drop me an email sam.menter@bbc.co.uk and I'll email the pdf to you.

Best wishes,
Sam

Nigel,

Not to sure if they use the XL1s, but I was speaking to a guy from BBC Resources for Childerens shows and he said that sometimes they use XM1 to give to the presenters to film video diarys.

Most of the time you see BBC people with a PD150 thats if they are not using BETA SP/ DIGI BETA.

Maybe Sam you could fill us in here?

Thanks,

Ed

Hi - Please let me know what OS and browser you are using. I can email you the guides if you are still having problems. sam.menter@bbc.co.uk.

Also, if anyone has an idea of other sites I could promote the guides on, let me know.

Links work great for me.

Thanks for posting the guides Sam. I just ordered the DVX100 and it's nice to have something to read while waiting for it. I really enjoyed the lighting course also.

I just posted the link to your guides on another video forum I frequent. I'm sure you'll get a lot of visitors from there.

Sam,
I had no trouble downloading the guides. You might want to post on dv.com. Great group of folks there.

Jim,
I just got my DVX100 this week. You'll love it.

They've been posted on DV.com several times. These guides along with Christina Fox's workbooks are always reposted for new users. The links are also on DVfreak.com

Ed - I work for BBC News (Politics Show) and use a PD-150, as do many of my colleagues. Don't know of anyone at work who uses anything else, apart from the dedicated crews who use digi beta.

Other departments may use other cams, but in News it's the PD-150. Great camera, I love mine.

Cheers

Thanks Damian,

I thought it might be. Is there a particular reason for using the PD 150?
