Does 'the line' count for a character and inanimate object?

I would figure so but i want to make sure. I have this test video here

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=21649969

I`m thinking the shot of him getting ready and cutting to the watch (a little more than 1/4 into the video), should follow the same line rule of keeping him on the left side of the screen, watch on the right...am i correct for it to remain pleasing to the eye?

I think that single edit works fine, as the two characters are static across the cut, so there is no change in direction of the movement. Also, the watch is in the same position on screen as the actor, so your eye is drawn to it. I was more worred about the shot before where he walks towards camera, as the speed of his walk is so much slower than on the preceding shot (I know this is only a test edit)

thanks, i do see what you mean how its still attention holding, its almost a reverse but not quite so I am a little worried....when he walks towards the camera thats actually a different character...i only had 2 people to try and block a 4 person scene ;)
