Wow, playing with a slow shutter speed is fun.

I was just outside a minute ago (2:00AM) in the pitch black, and with 1/4 second shutter speed and +18 gain, I could get a image of some crap, grainy as heck, but still pretty cool. Not only that, but I walked around holding the camera in front of me (so that its always on my face) and spinning around and crap, and that creates some fun effects. When sped up in post, it can be pretty cool.

That Starwars kid hurts to watch. Poor bastard.

Speaking of "StarWars Kid"- how was it done- After Effects? I'm not real well versed in AE...how would you "draw in" the light sabre? I'd be able to do it in photoshop as an .flm but it'll take forever beings even a 5 second clip is dauntingly large.

just keyframing a solid layered mask with feathered glow edges on it. you just key frame it along. it takes a while i guess.

A lot tougher is getting synchronized sound design for the lightsaber swooshes.

Ed,
Did you ever finish that recruiting video you were going to make a few months back? If so, how did it turn out?
