That is why there is so little motion in pictures.

I think it's part joke and part reality. The more they move while they talk, the harder it is to shoot it from multiple angles and have it cut well together. Damn, what am I talking about, I'm supposed to suck at dialogue scenes right? :D

While it is considered a joke, I some times considered it to be an axiom. It's sort of like "An actor never passes up a table of food, as he doesn't know where/when his next call will be."

It's not there motion that is the problem. They must walk, talk, and hit a mark, and also position themselves correctly for the proper camera angle. Less difficult with multi camera shoots.
