A new laptop
Hi
I am planning to get a new laptop. Any ideas what to get to use with the new Sony XDCAM-EX1? I also want to use this laptop for editing. Stelios |
I'm also thinking about a new laptop...the Vista software has me worried, been reading a lot of mags such as PCWorld, LAPTOP, and Smart Computing and there are repeated references to learning curve, crapware that is loaded by the hardware people which slows the loading process down, etc. So I'm thinking about a Macbook Pro 17" loaded up. Any thoughts or feedback appreciated....tks ..bob

Some of the new Dell's are very nice and Dell does offer a Bluray drive on some of the models.....
I think they also have the slot for handling the SXS memory cards too... you can ask them for Windows XP software, not sure they will give you one but you could always get another hard drive and load XP on it and just save the original HD in case you wanted to slowly migrate over to Vista... |
What about this one?
http://vaio.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProd...y=VN+AR+Series The only concern is the Hard Drive speed 4200rpm. Is this speed OK for capturing video? Stelios P.S. or this one: http://laptopmag.com/Review/Toshiba-...P105-S9722.htm |

What Vista version did you get? Has it got SxS inputs? Is there a reason for not using it for A/V software? Stelios |

Steve
What I meant about the SxS input was this from the leaflet: " simply by inserting the SxS PRO memory card into the ExpressCard slot on a PC......" Stelios |
