Photo or Video Photos
What do most of you do when you have clients photos they would like included in the DVD but you cant take back to the studio and scan.
Do you Photo or Video Photos? Im at the crossroad with what would be the best quality. I use a Sony Z1 and have a 6meg small digital camera. Some of theses photos are very old black and white and the client would not like them removed from home. Cheers Simon |
I would take a photo. Much much much much higher resolution, more pan and scan opportunities in post, than trying to do any pan you want with the camera and then curse about later....

Photo, absolutelly. Much better quality to start with, better and easier adjustements in photoshop, possibility to pan and zoom.

Thanks gyus,
Taking photos it is. Regards Simon |
Or you could put a really nice scanner on your laptop and scan the photos on site.
A lot of the newer scanners are extremely good and are being used to digitize large format negatives. To get a good photo of a photo I think you'll need a good copy stand and certainly good lighting. I doubt that hand holding the camera will get you top notch results. |
