3x4 or 4x4 filters for this holder?
I recently purchased this shade/filter holder from Schneider:
http://www.schneideroptics.com/Ecomm...D=1460&IID=949 Schneider says it's made for 4x4 filters, but when I measure the dimensions, it appears a 3x4 filter would fit exactly... The 4x4s would stick out of the top/bottom or the holder, (which bothers me and maybe it shouldn't)... B&H sells a decent selection of 3x4 Tiffons, but 4x4s seem more readily avalible, (although the cost is slightly higher). Thoughts? Any reason I should go with one or the other? My only thought is 4x4s might be more flexible down the road with different set ups... Thanks, Bob |

Bob, This filter holder accepts 4x4 filters. We designed it intentionally to have a 4x4 stick out so that you could get the filter in and out more easily. I would not recommend putting a 3x4 filter in there as you have difficulty getting it out. If you would like, I can custom cut you a 3x4 or you can just order some of our new low cost high quality Century 4x4 filters. http://www.schneideroptics.com/Ecomm....aspx?CID=1431 Ryan Avery Schneider Optics |
