Last night I came across some of my 10 year old digital 8 tapes so I played a few & to my surprise the footage was more natural & appealing than the A1 & HC1 hdv material. Of course, they weren't as crisp as hdv but nevertheless they are rather more pleasing images.

will do, just give me some time as I'm off to do a couple of video courses & hopefully learn how to do clips for the net.
