Microboards QD-DVD-127 CD/DVD duplicator
 

Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with Microboards QD-DVD-127 CD/DVD duplicators? I am considering buying one from our sponsor:

Is is true that the drives are actually the prestigious Plextor drives?

Anyone having experience with ANY Microboards duplicator please reply... what's your story? Working fine or not?

The company where I work has two automated duplicator machines and 2 disc printers. Our two printers suddenly broke down a couple of weeks ago, and we've had a devil of a time trying to repair them. My boss and a couple of other guys here have spent many hours on the phone with Micorboards Tech Support. From what I've heard, the tech support people seem nice enough- and very easy to understand, but on a few occasions, they did try to solve our problems by seeing if they could get us to just "upgrade" to the new and improved* insert model number here*.

The pair of CD/DVD duplicators do a pretty good job, but they can be finicky from time to time. Usually, I'll have to create a new master DVD about 10% of the time because the duplicator refuses to read the first disc. Outside of that, the duplicators run like champs. We'll typically set up our larger jobs at the end of the day and let them run over night.

That said, I think they're pretty good machines. The ones we have here are a few years old, and while they do break down from time to time, they're all around decent machines. Hope this helps.

I've owned a Microboards QD-DVD-123 duplicator since December '07. It's probably run 400-500 dupes since that time (mostly -R and CDs), and has yet to produce a bad disc.
