2:35:1 SD WxH?

What would the Width and Hight numbers be for a DV 2:35:1 or 2:40 Frame?

Like 4:3 DV is 728x480 <---what would those numbers be for a 2:35 or 2:40 video?

Thanks,
Mike

2.35 or 2.40 would involve letterboxing, so the while the overall transmitted picture is 720 x 480, the amount of letterboxing would depend on whether it was a 4x3 or 16x9 anamorphic recording.

We can imagine to attach an anamorphic lens (x1.333) on a camera able to natively record in 16x9: the DV resolution will still stay 720x480 in this case... Can be usefull to keep the full theorical DV resolution during the editing.

But the reverse process must be applied during the generation of the finalized edited video, (resulting in a letterboxed video, as said by David Stephen) or, if not, during the display of the video (some people use a videoprojector with an anamorphic lens attached to).

But assuming that a letterboxing is applied: the image will fit 720x360 in 2:37 (16/9 x 1.333).
If 2:35 is mandatory (not 2:37), the resolution will be 720x363, and 2:40 will give 720x356.

So how would i set up a Final Cut Project to edit this?
