Don't carry on clothes. It's a waste of space. My Portabrace never has been checked , even sky check. With the camera removed it is small enough to go in the smaller overheads (like the regional jets or Dash 8's) My roll on with the medical gear and 35mm camera goes in the back before my VX2K. Everything in that bag is rolled in one layer of bubble wrap.

My company laptop goes in the back before my video cam.

As one who travels for a living, I can assure you that the people who get on with their garment bags or a bloody great bag of clothes get the greasy eyeball from all of the seasoned pros. I don't know how some get past security but they do.

A GL2 without the case or a laptop case will be ok on the (RJ) CL65 or the dash 8.
