Shipping a Pelican case with USPS..?

Is it possible to ship a large Pelican case (1620) by USPS without boxing it?
(Yes, I'll call them tomorrow morning, but I kind of need to know already now.)

I'd assume so, but your better bet is with UPS, with whom I've shipped pelican cases before. I trust them a lot more (as far as it not getting lost) than I trust USPS. Just my $0.02

Thank you Trevor for that quick response. The reason why I have to ship my stuff with USPS is because I've been explicitly told to do so. What can you do...?!

Tourists occasionally mail dried coconuts from Hawaii as a gag gift.

Can You Really Mail a Coconut?

If it must go USPS I would definitely box it. Of course you should also pay for Delivery Confirmation.

I've shipped lots of gear in Pelican boxes, all over the US and some outside the US. I've never boxed it. The Pelicans stand up to almost anything. (once had a forklift driven through one...you can guess the results)

Conclusion...I wouldn't bother with a box!

I'd get some heavy duty zipties to secure the lock holes with. I imagine sometimes there are sticky fingers around...

Yep. I straight up lock mine with padlocks or heavy-duty luggage locks when I ship stuff.
