What do you use you camcorder for?

Well I just dropped some change on a new 2100 at BH. I will primarily be using it for theatrical/stage productions. Out of curiosity, what does everyone primarily use their camcorder for?

Theater/Stage productions 75%
Home movies 20%
Short films 5%

Work.

Commercials,
Teaching at a college,
Documentaries,
weddings,
training videos,
Exhibtions,
and anything else that will pay the bills.

I use 4 cameras: PC110, 2x PD150, DSR-300 and a Pannasonic Lipstick camera to feed one of the other cameras.

I use two VX2K's, primarily for weddings.

I use my cameras to make promo videos for small businesses here in Honolulu. I'm really just starting out so I'm still trying to find a niche. :-)

So far, I've been using them as training tools at the station, taping hose evolutions, rope drills, classes, etc.

Fun mostly while trying to increase the few bucks I've made on several small jobs- dance recitals and training vids.

To entertain the masses with senseless insanity.

Although now I'm getting into filming shorts that actually have a storyline...

Use an XM2 and shoot

Animal rights related footage from demos to seminars, for my animal rights website.

Short films.
Home movies.

Not as a paying gig yet, but I hope to change that one day.

I had been shooting material with my PDX10 for a teacher training video. That has slowed down (editing for it mostly, right now), and these days I find myself shooting various live performances, and a lot of experimentation on the side, just to further know my camera and improve my chops.

I must be the oddball here. I bought my GL2 just because I wanted a new toy :) I shoot video at the dragstrip, for Christmas, driving around town, etc. I just like to play around with video in iMovie and FCE. Sometimes use it as my webcam too!

VX2000 - weddings and corporate videos, and low light situations

GS100 - family events, business travel, and vacations

My wife and I have a two year old daughter and twin boys on the way (ETA June 04) and that accounts for most of my Fuji MiniDV tapes!
