Capturing a Computer Screen and then dump it to TAPE
 

I am in the process of making a "How to" for a computer based software. My question is. I would like to capture the screen directly to the computer as an AVI.

I have a demo copy of a a capture program "TechSmith Camtasia"
that will alow me to specify the size of the capture and FPS. to a AVI file.

My problem is that in premeire the capture looks good... but when saving it to tape.. its extreamly blury and un readable..

Does anyone have a better solution to do this?

remember that your computer is MUCH higher rez than video.
go in properties and set your your comp to the lowest rez-setting: probably 600 x 800, maybe even 480 x 640? try both setting your capture program to the sam rez as your computer and also the video standard. see which looks good on tape. it depends on how the program distorts the image to fit. or does that part happen in premiere?

The program camtasia made a 720x480 29 FPS Uncompressed video AVI.. and it looks very nice.. just like looking at the computer screen.

When I load up premiere and put it in the time line.. then do an export movie.. it looks all blury..

Any ideas..

Ignore that link.. I was going to upload the file but noticed it was 109megs.. for only 18 seconds. hehe

my brother just suggested frame rate.... like pal to ntsc .... i dont know any thing about that.... good luck!

Patrick, I got your last reply but did not understand it..

I think I found the problem.. In premiere Export Timeline ---> Movie using AVI with no compression... I was using AVI D1 so it was compressing the video.. Now I have to dump it to a DVD to see what happens..
