Intervalometers

Does anyone have some info regarding a good intervalometer which can be used with a miniDV cam?

Optex UK is developing one. However there's no info about it on their site yet. Simon Beer is the guy to contact, however at this point until it's announced there's not a whole lot he'll be able to say about it.

An intervalometer is a box that controls the camera for doing time-lapse (interval recording). Common in the film camera world, not so common in video. The XL1S and a few other DV camcorders have an intervalometer built in. The XL1 however would benefit from an external intervalometer.

And to add, the device is common for movie film cameras to control the shutter speeds.
