Dubbing Store bought DVD's to mini DV tape?

Hello.

Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer scenes from store bought DVD's to mini DV cam? I have a Canon XL1 and a Sony mini DV handi cam.

If your camcorder has A/D sampling you can do it......that means it does analog to digital sampling and can convert incoming video signals onto DV tape.

Most camcorder A/D's will not defeat Macrovision, however... and most store-bought DVD's are Macrovision encoded. The camcorder's A/D can sense a copy-protection signal and will not play or record copy-protected material.
