Google Wave For Filmmakers: A Concept

Hi DVInfo Boards. I'm not sure if this could fit into anything more specific, you be the judge.

I've just put together a piece on how Google Wave, theoretically, could enhance filmmaking productivity. Here is the original.

There is a lot of info an charts and graphs there, but let me break it down for you. Google Wave is a piece of software, in short, that is basically a beefed up hybrid of e-mail and chat, but it is much more. Wave is an open architecture that encourages users to work in tandem on the same correspondence, document, photo, etc. So why can't we apply this to video.

The idea is simple, one central solution which is accessible to everyone involved in the project. The video could be uploaded to the server as it is shot and logged, trimmed and cut in real time in a web browser. Like I said, way more info over at my site.

This is a concept and it is years away from being a possibility, but now is certainly the time to start the discussion.

So, DVers, what say you?
