anyone use eye-fi wireless wifi card with their camcorder?
if so which camcorder. How does the card function if you are taking short 1min clips back to back? Does the download cancel once a new recording session starts or must the user wait for the download to complete before accessing the camera again?

Plan to use in a video booth.

AFAIK those eye-fi cards are only good for photo-based cameras, due to bandwidth issues. They've probably got some form of buffer inside them, and while the camera is getting ready for the next shot, it's dumping the buffer to the PC via wi-fi.

I don't think you could push a FullHD 60p camera-originated data stream through a 11g network and not have some form of drop outs of footage from noise or other errors.

Other options would be have a computer with an HDMI capture card (or composite if you are cool with that) and place that with the computer. Easy enough to trigger some software to record the info when some external signal is applied (a button in the booth, whatever).

A twist on the above is to record the full HD/composite on that above laptop, AND have it stream out a more friendly HD format for an 11g network (if you need to make the booth as stand-alone as possible). Or forget the 11g network and look at a wireless HDMI or composite transmitter.

Better yet, put in a big memory card, and use either an IR remote 'rec' simulator, or a mechanical plunger on the camera to get it recording.
