Sony DXC-3000AP

I just bought one of these 3ccd cameras from a 2nd hand store as is for $130 - I have no idea if it works (it has no battery) but it seems to be in good condition - does anyone have any experience of these? Can you tell me anything about them?

If I can get it working I'd like to be able to plug into my my miniDV camcorder to record the images and audio - any idea what kind of cables and adaptors I would need to do that?

Thanks

Scot

If i am not wrong this the camera our Grandfathers must have used with Low band Umatic recorders...Never mind if you hve chosen it for your Future !

Batery for this oldy horse - 12Volt externl batery powered thru four pin xlr connector.

Video out for recording into your miniDV deck - If your miniDV deck takes RCA/BNC type composite singnals as input then you can use BNC fro camera end nd RCA/BNC type plug for dexk.

Audio - Use any microphone using batery to power it self and giving an RCA plug out to be recorded fro our miniDV deck..

Best of LUCK ;o)

Thanks for that - any idea what the picture quality might be like - do you think it would all be worth it? (at least it's a 3ccd camera)

As far as the video quality goes it from my experiance on a range of camera from 3000, M7, 537, 637, D30, D50,PD150/170, Panny DV200, AJD410...

The video qualitu shall not be more than 500TVL cox of camera reso is just about that. Moe so the camera must be atleast 12years old so the quality might have been worn out du to such a long span...check for any fungal development on in side camera & lens as this might be causd for long period of inacivity. i have had a 3000 iin my old units museum and now i find it with fungal development inside lens and body. You can not or say should not expect a quality better than PD150 or much so lesser than that...

You should have got a better camera like sony/panny handyca and u cud still have expected better output.

Rest is lest upto your usage style !

BOL !
