Term for rough draft of movie?

Is there an official term for the rough draft of a movie that you put together before the real production?

Previz?

depends what you mean by "rough draft"...is this a down and dirty version that you shot on video? In the commercial world they call such an assembly a "ripomatic" or "videomatic".

As Keith says, "previz" is the current term that's used for features, generally digitally generated images.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes I'm thinking of the down and dirty version using the actors minus props or special f/x, to work out blocking, camera moves/angles, and editing cuts.

I've wondered before if doing a 'ripomatic' and then releasing this in some way or another is a good way of protecting the intellectual property of a movie. Any opinions on that?
