Filters with Matte Box

Hi Guys,
can somebody help me out here.I am planning to buy a Matte box which will work with both 3x3 and 4x4 filters.What is the difference in using them beside price ???

Ummm, size?

The 4x4 will enable you to use larger formats such as bigger chip cameras and 16mm and some 35mm lenses. The 3x3 will be much more limiting in your options for lensing especially as you move up to larger formats. The 3x3 will also have limitations in larger formats for any grad filters which may require the filter to be moved in the matte box.

On the other hand the 3x3 is smaller and may be better ergonomically for the smaller cameras. That may be the only advantage of which I would consider.

Thanks for your quick response...for now I will use it with the JVC HD10u camera anyway which is considered small.So I guess the 3x3 filters would work just fine...
