I want to learn to fix camcorders.

Can anyone recomend any good book that will teach you how to fix camcorders? I see a bunch of cheap broken camcorders on ebay and would love to buy a few so i can learn how to fix them up, i just need to a book to teach me how.
I'm going to school right now for automotive, and most of the time the service manuel walks you right through the problem, so maybe a book could teach the same things either way i'm willing to throw down some money to try.

I would think that there are service manuals availble for many cameras--the problem is getting your hands on them. I doubt there is a general text that teaches prosumer camera repair. Someone else will certainly chime in.

Service manuals for gear like this are generally closely guarded. It's unlikely you'll find such material legitimately. Even if you did, it's unlikely you'd benefit from it.

Each of the major camera companies has slightly different policies regarding training and certification. Contact companies, or authorized service centers, directly to get onto this road.

Couldn't you buy one of those for like $65? (service manuals)

I recall there are sites out there that detail hacking the TRV110's firmware to unlock hidden featurtes like zebra stripes.

You could also try getting in touch with Greg Winter, who mods VX2000s and PD150s over at the dv.com audio forum (dv.com forums are a little sketchy right now though).
