Which camera models don't need adapter for 35mm lens?
 

I heard a lot about the PS Technik adapter for 35mm lens for XL1. Does the SONY DSR500 series need an adapter for the 35mm lens or it can directly take a 35mm lens.

Does all DV cameras need a 35mm lens adapter?

Which model onwards does SONY support the inter-changeable lens option (you know like DSR 250, 300 etc..) OR all the features of a XL-1.

All DV camcorders require the 35mm adapter if you wish to use 35mm motion picture lenses.

Sony camcorders with interchangeable lenses include all DVCAM 1/2" and 2/3" CCD models including the DSR300, DSR370, DSR500 and DSR130. These cameras require 1/2" or 2/3" professional Canon or Fujinon broadcast video lenses.

Some models of 35mm SLR lenses can be adapted to 1/2" and 2/3" chip cameras. Century Precesion Optical makes several adapters combined with a teleconvertor http://www.centuryoptics.com/ JVC used to make a relay lens adapter for Nikon to 2/3". I don't know it is still available. OpTex http://www.optexint.com/ might also be a possible source for SLR adapters.

Anamorphic question.
 

After attaching a 35mm lens with adapter, if I want to use it with the anamorphic attachment, do I still loose some of the zoom OR can 35mm lens use full zoom with anamorphic attachment.

I am little confused. What do the film people use. Do they use a anamorphic attachment with 35mm lens or do they use a lens inbuilt with anamorphic feature. If its true, are there any DV lens with the anamorphic feature.

There are 35mm motion picture lenses specifically for 16x9. They don't require adapters... they're made for 16x9 shooting.

There are broadcast video lenses made by both Canon and Fujinon for shooting 16x9 without an adapter, but they are made for professional broadcast video cameras using 2/3" CCDs, such as the Sony DSR500, JVC GY-DV700 and Panasonic AJ-D610. These lenses tend to be quite expensive, in the neighborhood of $20,000. Hope this helps,
