Hard disk based High-Def kiosk player?
Looking at my options for making a HD player for a large kiosk going up at a convention.
Should I get a micro-atx case and run it like that? Or are there dedicated player units that can plug directly into a HD plasma? I hoped to avoid a PC solution, since I don't want Windows screwing it up unexpectedly or somebody messing with it. The whole thing takes up roughly 40gigs... |
V Inc. is releasing a DVD player called the Bravo D3 which will play Windows Media 9 HD-DVD's. The estimated price is around 350.00. I e-mailed them today to find out when this unit is shipping and the price and will let you know as soon as I find out. The only other options right now would be either a HDV camera or HDV player from JVC which could play 720p and upconvert to 1080i if necessary, a computer system or a large panasonic or sony HD deck.
