One-Day Shoot at the Beach
 

Hello,

I have one shooting day at the beach that will involve a XL2/mini35 setup. I will be getting very close to the surf. In another thread, someone sugested a Rain Cover, then cleaning IMMEDIATELY after the shoot. Could I get more specifics?

Which would be a good cover to use for that situation, where wind might carry sand/salt water (Reasonably priced if possible)?

What's the best way to clean it throughly i.e. make sure that I'm not leaving any damaging elements in the camera? What products to use? (pressurized air, any liquid products)

Videosealskins and Porta Brace are around $160
Not sure if their XL2 models are shipping yet.

There's a cheap cover for hunting scenarios but it doesn't provide full coverage that I'd want for beach and other common shooting situations in Florida involving flying water. :-)

keep a real close eye on the lens glass... there can be a real fine mist at the beach, that could require some cleaning between shots.

Don't use compressed air on a camera as that just blows the dust where you really don't want it. Soft brush applied to the camera with a vacuum hose held close is the way to go.

I'd certainly have a filter on the lens and maybe use a Saran-Wrap-like plastic film to cover the rest if you don't have a suitable enclosure.

The bag-enclosures are the ones that are normally used in these circumstances.
