Anamorphic Film Lens - Where to buy?

Greetings everyone,

I'm looking for a cheap, low quality, 16mm (or 35 if I am super lucky) anamorphic lens (preferably Cinemascope). Where can I find these types of lenses? I'm assuming that these should not be *too* hard to find but I haven't had much luck yet...

Help?

*I'm not sure if this is the right place for this post. Please feel free to move it as you see necessary :)

Pro8's got adapters, but they won't cover super wide angles on 16mm.

Interesting. Thanks. Do you have a link?

How do these adapters work? What sort of mount do they have?

Anyone know of ANY way to get my hands on an anamorphic lens?

Here you go.

The lens listed is for Super 8, but I contacted them and was told that it would work on 16 mm as well, but not for all lenses. You really need to talk to pro8 about your specific camera.

Century makes very nice anamorphic adapters for video, but the company's official line is that they won't work on film cameras. That seems to born out at this thread here:

I would very much like to hear about affordable anamorphic lenses for 16mm as well. It would work perfectly with the few telecine options I can afford.

From what I've read, Super 16 seems to be the way to go. Even there, finding compatible lenses is tricky and expensive.

Thank you kindly. Much appreciated :)
