PAL to NTSC, what to expect.

I'm going to pick up some DVCAM tapes that I had transfered from PAL to NTSC today. Just want to know what to expect.. To see if the cpoies were properly done.
Since it's the first time for me I really have no idea what's it supposed to look like.
I'd be grateful for any comments!

Thanks.

If it's done on a Snell & Wilcox Alchemist, I'd hardly think you'd be able to tell it had been converted.

If it's been done on a crappy "affordable" converter box with analogue inputs, then it will look like it came out of the 70s.

Oh.. and I didin't even ask how they were going to do it..

I have to hope for the best I guess. Thanks, Graeme!

The transfer was "almost OK" except for some annoying "noise" in the upper field of the screen.
Halfway through there some other noise in the background.. This time it was audio noise, a song actually coming from the right speaker.. They charged me for new tapes but it seems like they recorded on top of some old tapes.. (Is that possible? I never reused any of my tapes.. Old audio sifting through the new recording?)

Thanks.
(Yes, I will return it all tomorrow)

You shouldn't see or hear any noise, and if the picture does get a little noise in it from the recompression to DV, it should be minimal. Also, check that they didn't muck up on any black levels or anything like that. You certainly shouldn't be hearing any music out of one speaker. Ouch - that's so un-pro.
