How to 16:9 on DVC200

Hi All I own DV200 & a GY5000 both PAL. The GY5000 has a mode where the top & bottom are cropped electronically to emulate 16:9 feel so it very easy to frame the shoot and one can still get the desired filmy 16(; effect for local cale shows corpo videos but how the heck to I do when I am in multi shoot with both the GY5000 & DV200 on location.

I know there is a 16:9 marker in dv200 but its very dff to frame when u see the marker but the top & bottom arent cropped whereby one shoots all what u see thru the VFand sometime later u forget abut the frame thing on dv200VF...is there any adoptor to be placed between camer & lens to do the desired cropping ... i can do the cropping later in post i know that but when shooting on location sometime cameraman forgets that he sees images in 4:3 bt has to virtually frame them as 16:9 !!!

Awaiting your views suggestions etc.

Thanks !

Connect the DVC200 to a monitor than just mask off the topand bottom with tape and just add the black bars in post.

there is a problem >>>

do i mask the lens ??? or ...

if i mask the lens then there isnt a sharp line to be masked on in post andmoreover there seems to be a spillover all the frame which doesnt gives a very nice looking shot its like that there is some kind of mesh i am shooting thru...

No, put tape on the monitor. Then you frame the shot for inside the tape. Then add black bars in post.

I am actually looking for shooting w/o monitor say when I am shooting shoulder mounted. its then that i have problems for framming 16:9 even with the marker showing me 16:9 margins as i almost cant do instant framming. every time i have to see the top & bottom marker...and this slows down the speed of working ???

Ayways ides sugestions...
