Travelling abroad - what hassles to expect

I was wondering what sort of hassles an entire filming crew would expect traveling through atleast 3 different airports , to get to the final destination. We will be lugging 2 cameras, cases, tapes, tripods, sound gear, minor lighting equipment

So far,i have:

1) Filming permit - can't shoot without this in a foreign land
2) J-visa - meant for journalism/media purposes

Any members here that have traveled abroad for shoots, what sort of hassles, advice can you give us? What about airport security/ checkout?
many thanks

The camera...

In certain airports they will stop you and ask for the purchasing reciept for your camera!!! In fear that you have bought it from outside and your taking in without paying taxs for it... So some certificate showing your ownership to the camera and date of purchase is something good to have...

This is if your traveling internationally of course...

I've never had an airport, or customs people, ask for reciepts for my gear. However, I bring photocopies of them with me anyway just in case.

wow thanks for that. I didn't even think something like that could come up. Any other bits of advice? and yes, we are traveling internationally

Don't bring drugs?

:)

Actually, if you hit the search button, I know we've had some pretty involved threads on travelling with gear in the past that will probably help.
