1.5 tb Hard drives

I'd like to consolidate and get rid of all my smaller hard drives. 1.5 tb seems like the sweet spot as far as size/price. My only concern is I've read about reliability issues a while back and "green"/low power consumption drives being a problem due to them spinning down to save energy. Looks like all the 1.5 are green Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Hard Drives,Internal Hard Drives,1TB and higher,1.5TB

any recommendations?

I'd suggest taking a good look at getting the 2TB Hitachis (which are 7200rpm drives). If you wait for a good sale/rebate deal on them, pricing is getting pretty competitive with 1.5TB drives (on a per gig basis) nowadays. Feedback on the 2TB Hitachis is looking pretty good thus far, and generally Hitachi drives tend to run cooler than some other brands of drives out there (major factor in reliability). The difference in actual power usage of "regular" drives and "green" drives is a non-issue in my book. HDDs are just not the big power consumption components (relatively speaking) in most computers (easily dwarfed by CPU power consumption in the vast majority of modern desktop computers).
