Playback Software for Film Fest

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice and your opinion of video playback software for PCs. I'm organising a International film festival later this year, aimed at kids, teenagers of action sports and you know how they love to encode the videos in the weirdness way possible. It's created challenge to find away to playback a wide variety of file formats.

I'm looking for playback software that can handle most video files, like QuickTime, H.64, MP4, Xvid, DivX, of any size, etc, etc. I’ve tried VLC which is good for all file formats but I can’t seem to create a playback list that works.

The key features I'm looking for are:

Playback list.
Add a file to list while a file is being played out
Playlist can be edited, while the current file is being played out.
Smooth transition between films - no flicking to desk top while next file is selected.
Playback can't be interrupted by a simple key press by mistake.

I did a small event last year in a field for 30+ people, with a 16x9ft screen, Optoma projector and my laptop – connected via DVI output. The down side was everyone could see my PCs desktop as I selected each file to be playback, so the presentation wasn't very professional.

This year I hoping to make it better and bigger and would be grateful of any advice and help.

Thanks Mark

KMPlayer handles most formats and supports playlists.

MPlayer Clasic also, but has an outdated interface and less features.

Both are freeware.

Thanks Ervin,
Just downloaded the KM Player - Looks like it's ideal. I will test with the projector over the weekend. I like all the queaks.

Thanks again for your help
