Choosing a camera Bag - advice please

I would like to hear any pros and cons of camera bags for the dvx100a. I am most interested in finding out the opinions of Petrol and Kata bags. B&H is recommending the Kata Multi 60. All input is appreciated.

1 more time

I thought I'd try once more to get feedback from owners of different camera bags - before I buy 1. I'm considering the Kata mc 60, petrol bag, or porta brace. I know Porta Brace is the standard. Why is it worth the $? I'll be using it for a dvx100a. Thanks for all inpput!

Kata, Porta Brace.... pretty much equal as far as camera protection. But one thing I do like about the Kata is the yellow interior. Especially if you have ever looked for a small item in the bottom of the case in a semi dark room.

That being said, I probably would let a major dollar difference influence me in the end. Key word being "major"

I just bought a Petrol bag for my PD170 and really like it. It was well padded, easy to configure. I am new to video so I don't have an extensive background in the different brands, but this one seems durable, safe, and well made.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. If anyone else has any thoughts feel free to chime in.

I bought a couple of 24 can soda cooler bags from Walmart ($14 each). I then bought some foam ($10ish) from JoAnns to custom fit the gear inside. As secure and sturdy as a camera bag and it doesn't scream HIGHEND CAM GEAR (STEAL PLEASE!).

This long thread is about a bag/case for the Sony Z1 (which is larger than a DVX-100a), but there's a lot of information which would apply to other cameras as well:
