Can't wait to test it properly and I dont think I'll ever look back on a tape camera now!

David,

Did the feet in the second shot come free with the backpack?

I have a similar Petrol PCBP-3N (I think it's a bit bigger than yours) and it's very good. A place for everything, and everything in its place, and I use the laptop compartment for quick access to a rain cover. I still need to improvise something for smaller bits 'n' bobs (filters, tapes etc.) as they tend to all tumble out when I put the pack on my back. I suppose they could go in the side pockets or in the top zip pocket.

I had a devil of a job getting the camera to fit with the mic attached, as I hate having to take things apart to bag them up. It looks like the MRC1K has the same problem for you. It makes the Z1 look a bit top heavy - does it add any noticeable weight? I'd love one for my V1 (along with a list of other non-essential add-ons).

Enjoy the new toys!

haha about my feet!

The bag is the PCBP-3N. The MRC1K does add a bit of weight but nothing I'd be worried about as its a tiny device anyways.

Mike have to tried to use this bag as hang luggage on any UK/Europe flights?

Mike Beckett April 12th, 2010 01:50 PM

Hi David,

No, it's not something I have tried, though I did consider it when buying th backpack. On paper, the dimensions seem to just about fit with guidelines from BA and other carriers. Qantas (for example) quote a maximum size of 115cm (adding w, h and d). Again, this bag just about fits, on paper.

Oh, and I realise now that my bag looked bigger because the V1 is 2/3rds the size of your Z1. Oops!

Thanks Mike,

I have Cardiff airport on my door step so I will take a trip down there on Satuday afternoon to test it out with those boxes they have. I'm off to Portugal next month and I need to get the camera through has hand luggage.
