Electronics whiz/gadget guru with knowledge of engineering, video technology, cameras and hardware.

I am looking for someone to help me build from the ground up or modify an HD camcorder for a very specific purpose. Any ideas on identifying such a person are much appreciated!

What sort of budget do you have for this? And what did you want to achieve?

There's a lot of knowledgeable folks here, a few tinkerers with some chops, really would have to have more info as to what you're hoping to achieve, and as noted, what the budget looks like - unless you sold a "dot-com" in the heyday, "ground up" is probbaly well outside your budget (i.e. "RED"), modifying an off the shelf camera may or may not be practical, but far more likely to be feasible, depending on the intended application...
