Canon XH A1 not working

Basically, my camera just doesn't work. If I turn the dial to "ex. cont." or "vcr play" it works. But any time I try to go into the and of the video record modes, it's just dead. I purchased this camera 3 years ago. It has been totally babied and well taken care of.

What is the best way for me to get this fixed? Should I mail it to someone or try and find a local repair shop or will Cannon give me any warranty deal considering it's 3 years old?

I have a job lined up on the 28th of this month and I'm stressing about getting it fixed before then.

Any help or info, much appreciated.

Dan

Check the switch that is next to your record button. Make sure it's in Standby and not Lock.

No problem. It's an easy enough mistake.

I see you're new here. There's a forum dedicated to the XH-A1 on this website. It's a great place for us A1 owners to trade info. Check it out!

I had the same problem during a shoot. I totally freaked out. ;o)
After 10 minutes of black screen and pushing all the buttons, I was able to solve it again and I'm glad you have it also back up and running. ;o)
