Back from Mars, Need Camera
I've been on Mars for the last five years. Things are are good on Mars, but they are still miffed with H.G. Wells. Looking around the video world here, I see things have changed while I was away. There are lots of new choices. I need to shoot high quality video, sometimes multi-camera, for web with the option of going to broadcast (for cable prob.) for a reasonable (read most bang for the buck) investment.
What camera(s) should I consider? |
Re: Back from Mars, Need Camera
HPX250 or XF305

Re: Back from Mars, Need Camera
And what kind of camera did those martians have you using?

Re: Back from Mars, Need Camera
@Gary: Thanks. I didn't know about the HPX250.
@Les: Something like a Flip, but with a direct neural net interface that is unfortunately incompatible with human physiology. |
Re: Back from Mars, Need Camera
Welcome back, Peter. Hope you've been able to shower off all the red dust.
Side note: I grew up in your area, just north in Turbotville. No, I'm not Amish. Anyway, if your pennies are dear, there are some very very good deals on the earlier P2 cameras, the HPX170 and HVX200a. You should be able to pick up two of those used and still get broadcastable 4:2:2 for about the same as one of the newer cameras. Next step up is the Sony EX1 or 3, which both make pretty pretty pictures. Seeing more and more EX1's for sale used. |
Re: Back from Mars, Need Camera
Thanks Kevin. I'm a volunteer firefighter here in Lewisburg and I've been up in the direction of Turbotville a couple of times on Tanker 2-1.
