Ay experience with Disk Warrior?

I've heard it is an excellent thing to have and cleans everything up to make the Mac run faster, however another editor tells me that it deletes all duplicate files with the same name. I thought it just tidied everything up.

Any experience based advice?

Disk Warrior repairs the directory structure and is almost a must have utility. It is very reliable option for issues where you have directory errors that Disk Utility can't fix.

It has saved me a couple of times but once you use it you don't get to use Disk Utility for disk repairs on a disk that Disk Warrior has altered. Also you have to get the version which can deal with your operating system. I need to buy a newer version to work with the newer operating systems compared to the older systems I have used it on.

Never heard that Disk Utility could not be used after using Disk Warrior. Can you cite a reference?
I routingely use TechTool Pro, followed by Disk Warrior and have never had any problems.
TTP and DW alter the directory in different ways.

Get it Cameron. You seem to attract problems. :-)

Seriously, when you have some disk glitches in the middle of a project or worse, at the end and on a deadline, you won't want to wait to get it. My two cents.

^ Yes, very true!

Well I've got it but because I'm overly paranoid when it comes to my computer - I'm going to wait until I have completed my current project and backed it all up. THEN I will install DW.

What changes will I notice afterwards, just generally a better and faster performance from my Mac?

Also, the reason my screen occasionally goes completely blue - leaving me blind to do anything, could be due to a bad screen connection.

I didn't mention the blue screen issue but that's another thread I think.

DIsk Warrior won't do anything for the screen. That could be the end of your system board, screen, or connection. DW will fix things related to corrupted files/folders and bad spots on the disk that make your applications "Unexpectedly Quit.
