SD Camera help
Hi
Our church has a 5 camera video system we use for recording services, weddings, funerals etc. We are using old color 4x3 security cameras on remote heads. We want to update our cameras to 16x9. Cameras would preferably have genloc and remote iris/focus/zoom capabilities. We thought about using 2nd hand Z1's (or pdx10) but we cant control the iris and the weight would be too much for our remote heads (we have a small budget). Does anyone know of a handycam or 16x9 security camera that might fit the task? New or used is not an issue. regards Phill Pendleton |
Re: SD Camera help
You might look at the Sony EVI series or BRC series remote controlled cameras. The web video studio at my newspaper installed three of the EVI-HD1 cameras which could be remotely controlled (pan/tilt/zoom) from the control room. They are very compact but do a good job. There are several models of this type camera, here is info on the one we use:
http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/product-EVIHD1/ The BRC series is less expensive, I have no experience with them, but you might look them up. Bhphotovideo.com carries the complete line, according to their latest catalogue. According to the web site, these cameras support PAL. |
Re: SD Camera help
Are you planning on going HD in the future as well? What kind of budgets are you looking at?
Do you want to use remote heads only or are fullsize cameras with operators an option as well? |
Re: SD Camera help
Thanks for the replies.
Definitely staying SD with one operator. Budget is tight, dependant on donations, so far $1500.00 |
