Where to Repair

I have a Sony HVR-V1U that the iris control wheel stopped to function in manual mode. So, I am going to send it in for repair. When I searched for camcorder repair I saw several repair facilities that repair Sony camcorders. Camcorder repair .com is one that I looked at. They even gave me an estimate of less that 200 to repair it. I also called Sony and they say to send it into their facility in Teaneck NJ. They say they will provide an estimate for $135 and shipping and sales tax if I decline. I am trying to decide where to send it to. Can anyone give me some guidance based on your experience with either of these facilities?
