Twixtor alternative?

I really need to be able to smoothly slow down 24p footage to 1/4 or even 1/8 x speed.

Is there a solid software alternative to Twixtor for synthesizing/slowing video? Is there anything within the stuff I already use (FCP X and After Effects a lot, and I have but have never used Adobe Premiere).

My slow-mo experience is limited to shooting and then stretching 720p/60fps, but I need to be able to do 1080p. I love the smoothness of dropping from 60fps to 30fps, but I need to go further.

Please forgive my ignorance on the subject, and thank you!

Casey

Re: Twixtor alternative?

Check out "Optical Flow" in the retime options within FCPX.
