Looking for Director/DP/AC quotes about Arri Amira
 

Hi all:

I am in the midst of writing a first look article for an industry magazine on the new Arri Amira. I would be interested in hearing some quotes from fellow DPs/ACs/Directors about what you hope that Amira has/does and how you hope it will fit within your shooting style. Also, what you are looking for in the images you create, what you like and or dislike about the Alexa. From what I can tell, the Amira is quite different from the Alexa and definitely is intended for a different audience/user than the Alexa but the two camera systems will obviously share the same lineage and I have found out that the Amira design/engineering team also mostly came from the Alexa design/engineering team.

I am writing a technical piece on the camera but I suggested a sidebar article including a few quotes from industry users of the Alexa or other higher end cameras about what they wanted to see in the Amira, their likes and dislikes about the Alexa, etc.

Here are a few starting points…

1. What is your name, job title and what sorts of projects do you work on? (Let me know if you want your name and credits to be used in the article or if you wish to stay anonymous)
2. Have you shot with the Alexa? If so, what qualities/features do you like about the Alexa that you hope Arri includes on the Amira?
3. If you have not shot with the Alexa, please tell me which camera systems you regularly use and what would possibly interest you about the Amira
4. Any other practical, realistic feature or operational requests for what you would like to see Arri include? Yes, I did ask Arri about 4k and yes, as expected, they "cannot comment on possible future features or products" but for now, I wouldn't hold your breath.

My goal is to write a piece that will show what the expectations are and what DOPs/ACs and Directors are really craving or expecting (besides 4k ;-)

Thank you for your opinions and any input. I have seen some specs, footage and the camera, and it is a pretty exciting new product. I think that Arri will do well with it.
