Laser tag and NX5U

I am wondering if shooting laser tag will damage my camera? Thank you

Re: Laser tag and NX5U

My understanding is that any laser that directly enters the lens may immediately and permanently damage the sensor.

IIRC, there was a discussion of "crowd scanning lasers" a few years back on this forum.

Oh yes, here http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-eo...er-lights.html

It's never a problem until it's a problem then it's too late.

Re: Laser tag and NX5U

Thanks very much,
I will check those out. I have not heard back yet from the guy about the shoot but that may be for the best...sounds like my concerns might be correct.

Re: Laser tag and NX5U

Probably need to find out the output rating on the laser emitters - DJ lasers are designed to output higher intensity beams to create large "light shows"... potentially dangerous to sensors and eyes.

lazertag emitters are designed for short distances where it's also probably very likely that someone will be shot in the eye by accident...

Re: Laser tag and NX5U

I haven't heard back from him,and the more I learn about this, the more relieved I am about that... but it's only been two days since sending him the email he was supposed to reply to.
I haven't gotten around to renewing my Craigslist ad, and it's been a month or two, so I was curious why he called me when he would have had to go through a number of ads first. Maybe he called the other ones first and they said no.

We've shot laser tag with our Sony f355 XDCAM's with no adverse effects.
